I became interested in allyship and social justice because I could no longer sit around and watch people of different races be judged, or shut out, or talked down to because they dress according to their culture or have accents when they speak. Before, due to my shyness about speaking up, I could only stand by while others faced insults and bias. But now, I want to stand and fight beside them, as well as help people change their racist behavior.
